Certified and Approved

Wilthagen is a modern, certified business. We’ve been approved in BRC, SKAL, BLK, EDI, MSC and ASC.

• BRC 7 is about food safety, guaranteed by the GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative). We’ve been certified at a higher level, for servicing international retailers.
• We’re certified as an organic supplier by SKAL, the Dutch national certifier for organic produce and products. Checks are based on EU rules. SKAL is internationally recognized.
• BLK means Better Life Certification, a sign of approval by the Dutch animal welfare foundation. Our authentic liverwurst is awarded one star for animal welfare. our organic chicken liverwurst is awarded with three stars, the highest level.
• EDI is the Electronic Data Interchange system in the food world. Easy ordering, online.
• MSC is the blue ecolabel standard from the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), about sustainable fishing. Seafood can be traced back through the supply chain to a fishery that has been MSC-certified.
  
• ASC is a standard from the Aquaculture Stewardship Council, which promotes and certifies sustainable aquaculture on fish farms. ASC is supported by the World Wildlife Fund and the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH).
